VAT Clarification

Businesses require specialized VAT clarification filing services in Dubai when a specific issue they face is not clearly addressed by the existing tax law and guidance. Jitendra Tax Consultants (JTC) and its flagship brand Tax Gian are happy to help you file a VAT clarification request to the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) to resolve your tax issues.

The Purpose of VAT Clarification in UAE

The FTA issues an official document in response to a query raised by the applicant regarding the tax treatment of specific VAT transactions. This document is called a VAT clarification, which aims to provide an answer based on the facts stated in the VAT clarification request.

Tax agents in the UAE such as JTC can help you file a VAT clarification request to the FTA. The following are the key highlights of the FTA VAT clarification:

  • The clarification applies only to the applicant and the specific transaction
  • The clarification should not be applied to other persons for materially different transactions
  • The FTA will rely solely on the information provided in the application for clarification

Who is qualified to submit the Clarification form to the FTA?

Any person meeting the following criteria can submit a clarification request to the FTA:

  • The person is unable to find an answer to the specific query after analyzing the relevant tax law and regulations, as well as the relevant publications by the FTA
  • The person has a genuine factual interest in the matter and it may have a material impact on the person’s activities
  • The FTA has not addressed the matter in its previous clarifications issued to the same applicant

How to File VAT Clarification Requests to the FTA?

Businesses can submit the VAT clarification request through Tax Gian’s tax clarification request services in Dubai. However, the applicant needs to have an account on the EmaraTax portal through which he or she can submit the VAT clarification form. If there is no account on the portal, a new account can be created. We are one of the best tax agents in the UAE and we can guide you through the process to submit the application.

How long does the FTA take to issue VAT Clarification?

Typically, the FTA will issue a VAT clarification within 50 business days. The FTA may take more time to issue a Clarification:

  • If the application is incomplete or additional information is required
  • The case is complex and the FTA is required to refer to other government entities
